Caring for our cows and producing high-quality milk is only part of the story! We are always looking for ways to care for our land and community as well. One of the ways we do that is through our biodigester.
What Is a Biodigester?
A biodigester is a system that takes manure from our cows and naturally breaks it down to create renewable energy. Instead of letting that waste sit or release gases into the air, we are able to capture it and turn it into something useful.
How It Works
When manure is placed into the biodigester, it begins to break down in a controlled environment. During this process, gases like methane and carbon dioxide are released.
Instead of letting those gases go into the atmosphere, we capture them and convert them into renewable natural gas.
Why It Matters
This process allows us to turn something that would normally go to waste into a valuable energy source.
That energy can then be used to help power things like:
- Homes
- Vehicles
- Local infrastructure
Better for Our Farm and Our Community
By using a biodigester, we are able to reduce emissions, manage waste more responsibly, and contribute to a more sustainable future. It’s just one of the many ways we are working to care for our cows, our land, and the communities around us. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the milk. It is about doing things the right way from start to finish!
